04:39 pm - Trip to Cologne Last weekend was very nice. I went to Cologne for a lil dance event: the CFD First thing I saw there were the stairs up to the Cathedral. lots n lots of people rested there, and so did I. 11:44 pm - I really hoped this to be a hoax At first I thought this was just another hoax. (like bottled kitties, remember?) It's still hard to believe, that somebody would use real fur like that. I found it. The features of the animals are warped, worse than usual taxidermics. I can't agree on the aestetics or on artistic appeal. It doesn't smell right to me. I like to do more realistic plush animals, but I wouldn't take the shortcut of using real fur. Mainly because the result would give me the creeps. Current Mood: pensive

11:48 am - My Ideas on Wolfram Alpha Everyone is fluttering about Wolfram Alpha right now. Some see competition to Google Search, News sites or even Wikipedia.  ... pffft very funny Nope Wolfram Alpha isn't providing valid and good information, it's far too limited to do that right now. It has to few editors to do that. Like the past has shown on Google Knol this lil hype will pass by, leaving a faint taste and a nice idea hanging around in mid-air. What Wolfram Alphais really good at is computing mathematical equations. You have a free accessible one-line mathematics software at your fingertips (wolfram published that long time ago) with something very interesting: syntax guessing! It guesses what I meant by a functional definition. It can integrate and derive functions (even high dimensional ones), give solutions for a recursive functions like the Fibbonacci sequence. Wonderfull tool if you need to controll your mathematics excercise and don't know where to start. The hype will pass by. Maybe it will find a spot in the hierarchy of nice to have engines. 12:36 am - Fritz Muliar - a great guy Fritz Muliar (December 12 1919 - May 4 2009) on the stage till the end. Saw him mostly in Schwejk and Kommisar Rex and he did a great job in both series. Almost 70 years on stage, he gotta be mentioned.

11:14 pm - Easter Vacation Less far than I planned at first, I nevertheless had a nice relaxing time in lower austria. An experiment of some kind. Working with exposure is kinda difficult when the cam does everything by itself. An example of the beautiful scenery there. This should be the Haaberg. My puppy also had fun in 15°C cold water.

12:25 pm - Google Streetview in Vienna Today in the late morning I spotted a PanoramaCam-car in the backroads near Mariahilferstraße. On closer observation it turned out to be by Google. This only means one thing, in near future there will be some pics from Vienna in Google Maps Streetview. Google does this since July 2008. It should be about time. 11:19 am - Cat Shit One I just read that "Apocalypse Mew" is going to be an animated series. I hoped for a nice traditional animation, but they did a 3d series. I hope it gets somewhere. About the series: It was a 3-part "manga" with very nice animal renderings and a brutal and serious story about the Vietnam War. Americans are bunnies, Russians are bears, Vietnamese are cats (hence the name of the troupe). I was very happy with the comic and some scenes in the trailer are actually pretty cool. 10:22 am - artsee weekend Yeah I had some fun this weekend. Many sketches aren't even finished yet. Strange thing was that a artjam pic (it was rough but I stayed up until 2AM to finish it) of mine simply disappeared: (This is just the sketch, full version get's on the net when I come home) Did I mention, that Trisha is TEH AWESOME.
